What an idea

Barberz Zone Inc. is the partnership of Rob Mims and Alonzo Guzman, both of Grand Forks, N.D.

They, in conjunction with the inventor of Barber Stop, Everette Blaisdell, see the future of barbering changing and want to show everyone who is thinking of becoming a barber, that the future is bright, rich and attainable.

Who are the owners of Barberz Zone Inc.

Rob recently retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service; eleven years in Information Systems Technology and nine years in Public Affairs. He brings the marketing and technical aspects to the business.

Alonzo is a career barber with more than 30 years experience. He currently owns People Barbers in Grand Cities Mall in Grand Forks. He is also the fifth vice president of the North Dakota Barber Board. He brings his vast business experience and superior knowledge of barbering to the business.

Both owners have several common goals:

• Further the barbering career field and breathe new life into it.
• Show young barbers their choice to become a barber was a good and profitable one.
• Urge people who are looking for a new career to join the barbering profession.
• Demonstrate to career barbers how they can stay ahead of the times
• Get all barbers into a kiosk so they can stop paying those expensive mall rents.
• Eventually be able to help those barbers who might not be able to afford the initial cost of the kiosk.
• Give barbers a way to make a very nice living for their families.
